I just purchased a 1992 cummins. it has a ton of aftermarket performance stuff on it, and it will make a great welding truck for me. Problem is, it has set for 4 months, and now it wont start. I tried priming it, but cant seem to catch prime. it only gets pressure at bottom of the stroke, but if u let it set for a few seconds, it will have full pressure until u pump it quickly. I tried bleeding the injectors to no avail. the guy i bought it from said he thinks it has a torn o-ring in the new injector pump he put on. I have no expirience with these 12 valves. i have an 04 that i love to death and seem to be able to keep it running. but i have no skill on the 2nd generations. lol. thanks for any help.

 

the 92 is a 1st gen, first thing i'd try would be to remove the fuel shutoff solinoid take out the plunger and spring and re-install the solinoid. that way for are sure there is fuel going to the injection pump, or the wire to it could have come off.
