1986 Case 855D crawler loader, hmm 12v 6bt...
you know I never bothered to look insde one of my crawler loaders, until something went bad on her
and noticed it looked quite a bit like a 12v cummins... and you know what, it was one
hmmm then i checked up and read about the dang thing,
its 86hp, would this baby have a easy way to up the power on? same as the trucks? same pump etc?
im just wondering how much torque its putting out, could it be the same cam etc as our original 12v trucks, i remember reading the trucks had a commercial rated cam. im guessing its 86 hp, and hell of alot of torque. sure digs basements easy enough
------
oh btw 5,067 hours on it, only thing that went bad on the machine was the dang transcooler, (all 80 pounds of steel) and the radiator (another 140) was close behind.
the engine still starts up on the first crank.
thanks for the info guys

I'm sure you could turn it up just like any 12 valve.
Problem is the hp is matched to the hydraulic system, you would most likely create more problems than improvements with the newfound power.

yea case and cummins must have worked together great, but the radiators were made to go
worked out that the things fell apart anyways, i did a full cleaning on the whole engine bay, and repainted it, looks like the things brand new

As a side note at one time we had a cat back hoe and it was very fast. It may just be me but the cat back hoe seemed to have a lot better converter in it as . I just like the case better overall. Jim
