190 HP freightliner P pump?

Are these decent pumps to do mods to? I ran across someone that has one and was thinking of buying it and the timing case to convert a VE pump motor. Thanks for any help-Nick

The 190 pump used on Fords and Freightliners is about the same as a 180 used on Dodges.

Check to make sure it is a P7100. I picked one up awhile back and found out it is a P3000, they look very similar, but the internals were different other than the gov. assembly.

How similar do they look? If I drive my 96 there and compare it would I be able to tell the difference? Any #'s on a 7100 that gives it away as such?

The tag on the pump will say P7100

I have a feeling that it is more like the 175HP pump. The ford pump was a 1551 I believe. It was one number higher than our dodge pump. I think the difference is in the injectors.

I was told it came off of a 5.9 that was in ford truck and when I posted the pump # on TDR (0 402 036 747) I was told it is a P3000. The biggest external differnance I see is that this one has a plate on the bottom of the pump held on by bolts instead of soft plugs like the 7100's do. After comparing them side by side there are other small differences, but the plate on the bottom is the biggest one. On mine once I took it apart the Barrels, DV's and DV holders are also all different.
