12v LP question

12v LP question
Dumb question (I'm a 3rd Gen guy). I just helped a buddy of mine swap the FF on his new (to him) 98 12v. Is the LP mechanical on this? I primed it after bleeding the air (we filled the canister too). It started and runs, but I don't hear the hum of a LP, so thats why I'm asking. Thanks!

Next time, just slap the new fuel filter on and hand prime the LP a few dozen strokes. You don't have to fill up the fuel filter and worry about spilling it or getting contamination in the fuel. Easy, quick, and no mess!

Cool, thanks for the info guys. I'm seriously considering buying a 12v when I move down to Idaho for a daily driver/hunting truck. The thing looks super simple under the hood! I'm enjoying tinkering with it and learning about the 12v's. We're going to tab his dowel pin this weekend, because his housing seal is leaking pretty good. I don't think the dowel pin went through the cover. It looks like the seal is just leaking. The previous owner just switch to synthetic at a 120K, so I'm guessing thats what sprung the leak. We'll see on Saturday. I'll be lurking around here and picking your brains some more. I need to get some time out of the 3rd gen forums and educate myself!
