Talking 12cm2 efficiency revisited.....again?

OK,
I just hooked myself up with a #10 plate and bumped timing to 15 DBTC. My truck was a bottle rocket before, now it's a full-blown rocket.
I had a friend make a custom boost elbow that I tweaked down to max out at 32 PSI. That was with a stock plate ground and slid slightly forward. I now have a #10 in the stock position and my boosts are pegging out at 40+ PSI. I know that's beyond the efficiency range, so I will be tweaking my boost elbow to max at about 32 PSI. My question is this: Is it my timing that makes such a boost difference than before? (I was using about a #11 plate)
How can my boost be up so high, and without excessive EGT, is it worth a 14cm2 wastegated housing?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

The best overall housing is a 16cm non-gated, or you could find an 18.5 off of a 1st gen and there both cheap, either would help you control boost and get rid of some heat, 12cm housings just can flow enough air.

Won't the 16cm cause large lag? I've heard 16cm2 is too big for a stock HX-35.

I had a 16 for a while and didn't like the lag, went back to a 14 and all is fine.
In my opinion always spend the extra money and get a wastegated turbo.

getting ready to get my truck out of the shop and along with the new tranny I will be putting a set of laser cut dv's and a 18.5 SM housing. I will let you guys know how I like it. since my 16 housing is in TN (MARK!!!) I will have to cope with the 18.5 housing. also with my timing set at 19.5 I will need to keep the boost as low as posible. since I will be going to the baby hx-55 J.R said the 18.5 on a stock turbo should be about the same if not the baby 55 might spool faster

So a 14cm wastegated would definitely be better than a 16cm for the HX-35?
Or should I just save my nickles and dimes for a Dodgezilla or Piers?

I just updated at 97' 5 speed from a plate, stock injectors, stock DV's and a 16cm to 370's and an 18.5 and it spools better, shows that it all depends on the fuel you have or the combo, suppose to go see what it does on the dyno in a bit as it was at 375 on fuel and 445 with water/meth before, EGT's are about the same or maybe a tad higher, I couldn't break 1500 with the water on, I need to set the pump on the dyno.

As it stands, when I get off the turbo now, I bark it. That's a compressor stall, and is not good for any turbo. I'm thinking it's because there's not enough room to breathe. Now if I get a 16 cm housing without a wastegate, will that be a problem in the long run? When I had a stock setup with the plate forward, I pinched the wastegate to get the boost I was craving. Now I have too much! If I go to 16 and it's still too much will I be bummed?

And if I do go to a 16, with my fueling (I also plan on getting 370s sometime soon) will I have too much lag? I don't get on her too hard normally, it's just when I see one of those annoying ricers or worse yet, a Ferd 6.0!
A ferd has got to know his limitations!

Results are a 56 HP jump with the changes, the truck now stands at 432.6 fuel only and 496.3 with Water/Methanol...........Stock 200K...HX-35/18.5.
