12 valve died will driving
I was driving my dad's truck, let it warm up. As I was getting on the highway, the truck began to miss and then reved to 3500 and the throttle felt like it was stuck. Shut the truck off and coasted to the side of the road. Restarted the truck, drove about 2 miles. When accelerating the miss could be felt. It reved to 3500 again and i turned it off. Now it will not restart. It is getting fuel to the pump, but not to the injectors. Removed the fuel plate, found that the gov arm is not hitting the fuel plate. Therefore not letting any fuel into the pump. Right? What could cause this? I was thinking a bad injector caused one of the pistons in the pump to bend, and not let the rack move freely. With a prying device i can move the gov arm a little. Any ideas would help! Sorry i don't know all of the components in the pump. Thanks

Don't think it's wise to pry anything inside the pump and don't think the pump is the problem. It would be extremely unusual for a P pump to die as you explained. Even if an injector suddenly clogged up the fuel would pass though the injector return line without damaging the pump.
Without more details my guess is the shutdown solenoid is acting up.
You will still get fuel to the pump if it's not lifting but the engine won't run.
Let me reword this, the solenoid itself is probably fine except if the rubber boot on it is damaged and gunk has caused it to bind. Just remove and clean it. That or a wiring/relay problem.
Don't replace the solenoid unless it looks obviously burned up on the outside.

I took apart one of my other 12v, and the arm in question moves freely. As it was explained to me the arm rotates the pistons in the pump to inject more or less fuel. The more it moves towards the front of the truck the more fuel. Since it is stuck towards the back, i think this is why the trunk will not start. Just wondering if anyone has run into a problem like this. I know the p pumps are not supposed to break. But i feel as though this one has....

my buddy had one do the same thing except it ranaway then died then evey time we would finally get it startd it would runaway took it to a pump shop they said the rack was stuck got a new put it on just to find out the motor was shot to

Stupid question, but you are checking the gov arm movement with the solenoid up, right? What tranny is in the truck. Does it stay at 3500 at load and un loaded. Mods? Does the truck miss while at an idle? If it does, I would try to locate it to which cylinder, then have a look at the injector and at the barrel and plunger and see if you can see any damage.
