12 valve in a 24 valve truck??
Is it possible to swap a 12 valve from a 96 automatic pick up into a 1999-2001 24 valve pickup with a 6 speed trans? I know it is able to be dropped into any ford with a few adapters and other mods, but what would have to be changed to make the 24 to 12 swap?

engine adapter needed to go from auto-stick and a few mods but you will have a lot of electronics that wont work, but it can be over come . there are some people that have P-pumped there 24v and a few 12v re powered 24v not hard to do

Engine adapters are the same. Physically, it will bolt right in and everything will line up. But its the electronics that will make it more difficult. Do a search, there are several threads that discuss doing this.

i put a 12 valve in a 2001 1/2 ton short bed single cab that was originaly a gas burner it took some doing but i got it done the wiring was the worst part of it but as far as putting the motor in it should just set right down in there the mounts and everything should be the same in both trucks

The best thing to do would be rebuild the entire gasser unit before putting it in the truck the seals, bushings and clutch plates are not that expensive.
A seal failure resulting in a slipping trans can get real expensive very fast plus all the labor to R+R that tranny again.
