My Buddy`s `01 CTD auto trans (47RE?) died this morning. Can anyone recommend a place for him to take it? Best place to have it built? Or even a place to buy used one?

He`s running superchips, intake, exhaust, blue chips fuel box....and he`s got a heavy foot, and tows alot. THANKS in advance for any info/help.

 

i would say order one from suncoast or DTT. Suncoast is cheaper but from what i have read (save one guy on this website) dtt was the way to go

 

Both Suncoast & either DTT or Goerends (I don' 'member which) have mechanics in PHX that have done alot of their rebuilds--it's prolly one of the better places to lose a tranny...

 

I think Fred Swanson is in Phoenix. Have heard many good things about his tranny work. He is a DTT installer. I dont know his number but a quick call to DTT and they will have it.

 

That name sounds familiar, but no harm in checking with DTT (calling either DTT or Goerends was definitely how I got the name...).

The Suncoast guy is Ben Spencer, owner of A-2-Z diesel in Mesa @ 480 288 0177 and BOY will you ever get an earfull of love if you call Suncoast for a reference...He's an ex-Dodge Svc Mgr from KENtucky or somewhere, if I recall correctly.
