i looks like dodge is just going to do nothing on the (NON DRIVELINE) 2100rpm vibration issue....here it is ,the 04.5s comming out and soo after the 05;s and us 03/04 owners still have no answers,except small fixes (snake oil) that dont do anything .....they are waiting for us to shut up or just go away.this should have beed resolved along time ago...it may be its someything major that will cost them alot,and the dont want to deal with it.....i dont know...but its not right to spend this much and get this kind of product>>>>

 

there are many vibe in this motor where do u feel yours there is a new TSB reguarding a vibration around 2000 rpm in the engine has to do with changing a power steering hose..also if you have a long bed and have not had the hanger bearing shimmed

 

Hey df5152 can you explain in detail the long bed bearing shim, I have that 2000/2100 vibe and would like to know if I am in line for that adjustment. Is it listed as a TSB? Thanks for your help...

 

first do you have an engine vibration or drive line where do you feel the vibration? the shim is just and adjustment to the hanger bearing in the drive shaft.

 

Drive line vibration, Seems like a pulsation at 1950 rpm to 2200 then disappears. The truck loves 75mph+ But the local smokey does not..

 

its not in the driveline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What model is your truck?

Mine has the vibes, I took out the front driveshaft, drove smooth as silk. Put the shaft back in, took the truck to the dealer, they sent the shaft out for balancing, put it back in, it was worse. Service manager even acknoledged it before I picked it up since he'd test driven it I'm now waiting on a new driveshaft to come in this week.

 

took 5 or so large cable ties and tied the two power steering hoses together, killed alot of the vibration!

 

it dosnt matter what the the truck is or has....the 2100 vibs happen in neutral..like has been said in many of the other fourms... like i said when I started this fourm and one of the others...the first thing i tryed to stress ,most of the 2100 vibes are NOT DRIVETRAIN.....AND THESE VIBES OR IN ALL DIFFRNT KINDS OF 03 AND 04 CTD.....and yes iv tryed ALLLLLLLLLLLL THE HALF ^*#@ FIXES ''SNAKE OILS''

Maybe getting mad at the people who are trying to help you will cure it....I get the feeling your problems will never go away, no matter what happens, but that's just me and my humble opinion.

 

MAYBE IF PEOPLE WOULD READ FIRST,THEN THEY COULD BE MORE HELPFULL TO US THAT DONT HAVE A DRIVETRAIN/DRIVELINE PROBLEM AND HAVE TRYED ALL THE SUGGESTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN OUT THERE FOR ALONG TIME NOW....THERE ARE ALL OLD EXCEPT THE PS HOSE AND ITS NOT THE FIX...IV BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THIS FROM THE BEGENNING OF THE 03'S....AND DC IS THE ONE THAT IS NOT HELPING SOLV THIS MATTER

You need to check your attitude at the door!!!!.

The people here who try to help you are doing it out of kindness, they owe you NOTHING!. Do not come here and expect people to jump through hoops for you, especially with that attitude.

Either play nice in the sand box, or go somewhere else and play.

 

Check your motor mounts. That all are in good condition and tight..... possibly they could also be too tight. You could theoretically have some funky internal engine harmonics going on at 2.1k but with an I6 especially a cummins I6 it is doubtfull that the amplitude of any vibration would be higher at a certain band in the middle of the rev range like that. Even a "perfectly" balanced engine transmits more vibes as RPMs increase..

My guess is something is resonating in the chasis, frame, mounts, steering wheel etc when the engine vib pulses are just right to get it going. Meaning the engine is'nt shaking any harder around 2.1k than 1.5 or even 3k so the frequency at that range must be just right to get something going.

Isolate where you feel it and work back.

Feel vibe in Hands... Steering Wheel....Tilt...column...dash....

Feel vibe well in Butt... seat... seat frame.. cab.... cab mounts...
