Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

1st 03 I had was built in October of 2002, 6 sp, HO, 3.73. Vibrated at 2000rpm from the first mile I put on it. However, turn off ac & poof, vibe is gone. Got better with time and by 15,000 miles it was nearly gone. Or, I just was used to it.

Next truck was built in july 2003, HO, 48RE, 3.73. No vibe.

Go figure!!

Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

My engine has a slight vibration with the a/c on at idle. I don't notice any vibration at 2,000 rpm with the a/c on or off. The engine does drone a bit while pulling a trailer (1,900+ rpm) but I don't find it bothersome.

Build date: 08-25-03

Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

You guys that have no vibration, do you have any run out in your fan when the truck is idling? On my truck the fan blade wobbles in and out about 1/4" to 3/8" when looking at the edge of the fan shroud. I wondering if this is the cause as a few others have said they have some runout on the fan blades. Mine isn't loose, more like something warped or bent. Let us know what you find......

Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

Bulid date = 08/03. I have 1,200 on the ticker. Pulling a couple 4 wheelers up a mountian hi-way (on a two place trailer) this morning, I experienced some pretty strong vibrations (in the seat & body) from about 1600 to 1800 rpm while climbing at about 65mph. Once I increased the speed to 70mph (just over 2000rpm), and the vibrations had vaporized. Is this normal?

Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

I'll have to check the build date on my rig, but i've got a little vibration at 2000-2100rpm. It doesn't bother me enough to worry....just reminds me of the powerful cummins under the hood. At least it doesn't drone like some vehicles.

One fix I could think of would be to buy a product like Dynomat or FatMat and install it. It would really cut the noise down in the cab. It's just a pain pulling up all the carpeting.

Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

Mine had it built 3/02 the ac has something to do with it,but the vibes in the steering and the drone is cause by a metal tag on the right post by the radaitor thats if you have just the 2 rivets on the opposing corners. Remove the right light assembly and put the other 2 rivets in. Its seem the ac is making the tag vibbrate and thats why you hear it and feel it in the streering wheel, it only takes a few minutes to do try it what do you have to lose?I did mine and the sound is almost gone and the vib's in the steering are gone!

Re:2000 rpm VIBRATIONzzz ?

Built 5-03 and I have vibe around 1900-2100 rpm. Hopefully it will go away, cause I don't trust the local dealer : -Steve
