Smoked my first 07 Corvette

Hey guys, I just want to share this with everyone. I just smoked a vete from a 50 mph roll. He started out beating me by a 1/2 a car but by the time I got to 100 mph, I was about 1 1/2 car in front of him. I was running in my tow mode. I call tow mode, comp box on 2X2, a set of BD130's and my smarty set to mid catcher mode (no timing). He came back at me several times. I beat him on each pull. I even laid it into him and smoked him out on the last outting. Its was a cool day. First all out vette bash. I wonder if he told his buddy's that he got smoked by a big smokey diesel 4X4 pick-up. I figuring that I down at least 200 to 250 rwhp from normal power levels running in tow mode. Ok, I'm pumped a bit.

I beat some dude who thought his 1980 2 door buick with duals was fast. From 70-100mph I put 3 cars on him. And that's with the quad box on 2 and no smarty.

Mike, sorry to take away from some of your thunder but that's very, very impressive what you did.

Rite on man! Vette drivers dont like to go but when you find one that will its on like donkey kong. I raced a 03 or 04 ZO6 vette he was not happy after I pulled him 4 times the fifth I drownded the turbo out and he started to pull on me and cut infront of me at 80mph.....I should have hit him

I should have recorded the time I killed a 06 F350. I held a burnout at the lights. I was in two wheel drive. I thought that I was in 4X4, I tried to boost launch him. About 1/4 mile down the road there a sharp bend. I almost flipped upside down as I hit the bend at 120mph. There was the ford just leaving the lights in a big cloud of smoke. It was my worst 60' time ever, as I all I did was spin. I know a older mustang car gave me a good run the other day. Those five speed cars come out of the hole pretty good. Nice kill on the Z06 car, buddy.

The fool driving the 'Vette had no skill. Even a regular, non Z06 should have left you if you were in "tow mode".

The physics don't lie. The vette weighs half of what you do. Your sig says 677hp, and you say you were down over 100hp due to being in "tow mode".

That vette is putting 375 to the rear wheels in most cases. So, let's look at power to weight. Since he weighs half of what you do (almost exactly- you're about 6800#, he's 3400) he only need half the power to break even.

Well, if you are only 577 at the rear wheel instead of 677, then he'd only need 288 hp at his rear wheels to break even with you. Since you say you were down even more power than this, he'd need even less.

Not to mention the aerodynamics of a 'vette versus the CTD. That means he needs even less hp to beat you. At 55mph, the aero isn't such a major factor, but at 80+, it's huge.

So, the numbers don't add up, and the only way to explain this awesome kill is that the other driver was a moron-- pretty common among 'vette owners.

Hey HOHN Why you stealing the mans thunder? He was just telling us about his kill that he was proud of and you come along and basically say that it wasn't worth anything. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all

I dont think he was really stealing it, Its still a really cool thing! Hohn's Information can be very helpful to everyone if viewed in positive light, Quite honestly none of us know it all, Post like this and some of the post from hohn and all the great members here can teach us all a wealth of information , in the automotice field or not, But if we get off on a rant and get upset we'll never learn anything. ...... Yes i know, that got way off topic, I guess I'm saying is he's not bashing anyone, just stating a fact no one else stated!
